In Project Two, we were split into two subgroups, computing, which were required to write a code to mobilize a mechanical arm to pick up a sterilization container and place it in an autoclave and modelling which were required to design a sterilization container which would be picked up by the mechanical arm. As a member of the modelling team, my teammate and I designed a container using Autodesk Inventor but before that, we made preliminary designs in the form of drawings then physical 3D models. The containers designed had to be 3D printable, effective fpr sterilization and secure for the tool assigned, meaning that we needed to design a mechanism which would hold the tool in place in the container. To do that, we made a rectangular box with handles so that the mechanical arm can hold onto something, holes to make it sterilizable and a press fit mechanism to secure the tool in the container. We 3D printed the model and verified that it works not only in theory but in practice. See picture below for our 3D model.
